A parterre was a popular formal garden in England and France in the late 17th Century. The geometric clipped hedge patterns associated with this type of garden often incorporated avenues and stylized tree platforms; some designs even featured elaborate sculptures, fountains and terraces. Framed under a Lucite Shadowbox, the Gisele prints are mounted to an interior board that is upholstered in an off white cotton/linen fabric.
